There are some authors that are so reliable that you know without even reading the synopsis that you will enjoy them. So recently I’ve been indulging in my tried and true authors. I’ve read Ben Aaronovitch’s latest, the conclusion to Ash Fitzwilliam’s Maybe series, and I have the new Scalzi lined up in the queue. I’ve also put a Nick Harkaway and a Richard Kadrey on my Christmas wish list. When the fabric of society is shifting beneath your feet, it’s nice to have a few solid authors to rely on.
