I picked up The Geomancer’s Apprentice by Lin Yeung after seeing it on social media with the tag line: Who knew feng shui would be this dangerous? How could I resist that? I was very pleased when the book lived up to the fabulous quote.

Most of the book takes place in modern day Washington DC which made me happy because I’m familiar with the area. The MC and her mentor are very relatable and the plot goes at a good clip. Towards the end I was actually hoping all the loose ends weren’t going to be tied up so I would have a sequel to enjoy. When I checked I discovered the series has FIVE books and I greedily downloaded and started the next one.

If you like urban fantasy with a heaping helping of Chinese mysticism you really need to get yourself a copy of this book!
