I recently had a long road trip and listened to the new JD Robb novel Passions in Death. For those playing at home that’s book 59 in the series. If you’ve never read JD Robb the In Death series is a police procedural in the future after “The Urban Wars”. It contains graphic violence but also romance and some very steamy love scenes. I’ve read or listened to every single one, so at book 59 you’ve got to know it’s good or I would have lost interest long ago.

I prefer the audio books because the narrator (Susan Ericksen) is a genius with voices. If you want to start at the beginning (recommended) that would be Naked in Death. For my money the best in the series is Origin in Death. It’s a brilliant plot and it makes the best use of the futuristic setting.
