Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of seeing The Damsels of Dorkington perform many times. These three ladies sing, dance, and crack jokes in the lewdest and crudest way possible. Normally that’s not my schtick but when they adapt Broadway show tunes to make jokes about gaming/sci-fi/fantasy then I’m in 100%.

This year I managed to see them twice. Their show Hamilthrones takes all the music from Hamilton and repurposes it to create a satisfying (?) ending to the Game of Thrones series. For good measure there’s a rap battle between Lin Manuel Miranda and George RR Martin (both played by the women of course) with occasional butting in from a muppet of Sanderson and the ghost of Bob Jordon.

Their other show was ShmigaDune – a retelling of Dune using old school show tunes from Bye Bye Birdie, The Music Man, Brigadoon, etc. It’s their goal to use new show tunes for Dune Messiah and modern show tunes for Children of Dune. Both shows were a lot of fun.
