The Lemon Bucket Orkestra

I know that headline looks like word salad but The Lemon Bucket Orkestra is an amazing band we had the pleasure to see this week. In their own words they are Toronto’s original Slavic-Balkan-Klezmer-Party-Punks. The multi-award-winning ensemble has been heralded as a groundbreaking, genre-bending phenomenon by media and fans alike.

I know what you’re thinking: What would that even look like?

Now imagine these people pogo-ing onstage while playing blistering fast and howling lyrics in a language you don’t understand but you certainly don’t have to because the energy is everything. When they’re not jumping up and down (and how do you do that while playing wind instruments I ask you?) they’re weaving amongst each other like a drunken marching band. By the end of the set they’d descended into the mosh pit and people were dancing around them ring-around-the-rosie style. Then they very cleverly played themselves out of the tent and over to their merch table.

You owe it to yourselves to check these madmen out!
