When I’m stressed there are certain comforting things I reach for. I find British Who-Done-It TV shows comforting because they get the bad guy in the end without wallowing in too much graphic violence. I also cherish Jane Austen variations and retellings because of the certainty of love triumphing over all. So imagine how much I’ve been leaning on the series Miss Mary Investigates  series by Riana Everly in the last few weeks.

In the first book “Death of a Clergyman” Mary Bennet works with a private investigator to clear Lizzy from a wrongful murder charge. In the second book “Death in Highbury” Mary and the investigator team up again in the Emma story, and now I am hip deep in “Death of a Dandy” which takes place in Mansfield Park.

There’s only one book left in the series and I wonder how I will cope when I’ve finished it. Where else will I find well written stories of good triumphing over evil while also doling out HEAs to all my favorite characters? Either Ms. Everly needs to release another book pronto, or space aliens need to Close Encounters away a UFO full of politicians STAT!
