The Comforts of Home
We’ve just returned from a very long vacation in Ottawa. While we had a wonderful time, there’s a lot to be said for the comforts of home. I like getting my newspaper delivered to my driveway. I like having an entire closet full of clothes (and several containers full of socks) to pick from every day. And our selection of herbal teas in our pantry is phenomenal.
I like knowing where to buy all my favorite foods and brands of self care products too. Did you know that visiting FOUR different drug stores did not provide me with a bottle of Neutrogena Clear Pore? We couldn’t find the hubby’s preferred shaving cream either. It’s the little things you can take for granted that travel really pops to the forefront.
Other fine things are navigating around town without being dependent on GPS, and running into people you know while out on a walk. I also prefer my extra large shower and washer/dryer. As an extra plus we have both our cars here. The hubby’s car is better in snow so it was the obvious choice this trip, but my car seats are so much more comfortable!
As yes, it’s good to be home.
