Higher Education
This week I started a brand new bachelor degree. Having not been in a classroom since the 1990s I was a little apprehensive. Would I remember how to study? Am I up to the hectic schedule and test anxiety? What was I thinking? Well so far I’ve attended two classes and I’m already very pleased with my decision. I wouldn’t say I’ve been vegetating in my retirement. I’ve been reading, writing, going to museums and concerts and plays. But after only 6 hours of higher education I feel like my brain is waking up and firing on all cylinders. I’m already excited about choosing the topics for the research papers I was dreading last week!
Can I keep up my enthusiasm for the next 3 months? I hope so, but realistically I know that if I don’t start feeling overwhelmed this semester there are still 7 semesters to go after that. Wish me luck!
