Last Saturday I attended the Ottawa JazzFest so I could see St. Vincent perform with a full orchestra and the combination was incredible! At one point she was playing her electric guitar vigorously at a cello player who was returning in kind like when two rock guitarists go at it. I’m going to post a link to see the same concert in London here. It was an outdoor event for us, and the weather was good. I had a wonderful time.

Sunday was wonderful too, but instead of the classiness of an orchestra I attended a musical at the Ottawa Fringe Festival. It was called: Crabs! The Musical. It was a story of four giant mutant crabs that decide to check out the big city. One falls in love with a human, and two fall prey to drugs and alcohol. Eventually the crabs take up residence in the sewers which they view as a paradise. The costumes were fantastic and the songs funny. You can listen to them on Band Camp or watch an animated video of one of the songs. Plus if it ever comes your way you can see it yourself!
